INformed, INvolved, and IN THE SPOTLIGHT

WHO: Emma Moughler, Age 17, Senior

WHAT: First girl in history of Eastside High School to play on the football team. Kicker (PAT, Field Goals, and Kickoff). 4 Sport Athlete in the same season (Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Track).

WHERE & WHEN: At track practice last season her track coach Seth Wilcox asked her to try kicking a field goal, he taped it, sent it to head football coach Mike Eshbach. The next day Coach Eshbach asked Emma to join the team.

SO WHAT: To prepare for this football season Emma attended a football kicking camp this past summer with her cousin Will Hathaway (soccer player from Lakewood Park). Her biggest challenge so far has been putting on her uniform jokingly and adjusting to the daily routine of football practices and games. The thing she likes most is just being a part of the team and enjoying the process.

NOW WHAT: She is juggling being a volleyball and football player this fall season. She does basketball in the winter and track in the spring. She expressed potentially kicking in college if that opportunity were to arise.
