Superintendent's Welcome

Welcome to the DeKalb County Eastern Community School District, where we accept no excuses for anything less than academic success for all students. For over 140 years, education has been a civic priority in Eastern DeKalb County, and the DeKalb Eastern Schools continue to receive wide spread community support for the many academic and extra curricular programs that prepare our young people for lives in a rapidly changing world.

The website was designed with you in mind, and I hope you find it to be helpful as you peruse the information about our schools. What you will discover is a system committed to engaging the best efforts of all children as they learn within an academic standards-based environment. What that means is that we are preparing our students to be academically competitive when they leave DeKalb Eastern Schools – whether they choose to remain here as citizens or live anywhere in the world.

DeKalb Eastern Schools has made consistent progress in test results* and graduation rates since 2010, and we are working to continue that progress. Our academic standards are world-class standards, and we have accepted the challenge of creating learning experiences that enable students to meet them.

You will see vocational, academic, co-curricular, and extra curricular news and activities on all the school home pages within the district. Regardless of the student interest, the opportunities to explore, discover, create, plan, and execute are provided by DeKalb Eastern Schools.

Should you require additional information, or if you have an idea that could make any visit to this website more productive, please contact us. Understanding that you could have visited countless other sites, I thank you for spending time becoming more familiar with one of Indiana's premier learning organizations – DeKalb Eastern Schools.
