Performing Arts
DeKalb County Eastern CSD Performing Arts Programs include our theater, choir, and band departments. Our facilities include the Millie Hansen Auditorium as well as the Cabaret Theater.
Eastside Jr./Sr. High School spring musical will be Roald Dahl's Matilda. Performances are Friday, April 26th at 7:00PM & Saturday, April 27th at 2:00PM and 7:00PM. Tickets will be $8 at the door.
Eastside has a thriving choir program that consists of two curricular choirs and an extra-curricular show choir called FULL IMPACT. The two curricular choirs perform 2-4 times a semester and study vocal fundamentals during class. Full Impact performs at competitions around the area and has received awards such as best vocals, best choreography, and 1st place. Choir is open to everyone, and is always looking for more interested vocalists!

Winter Production
Winter production is open to both junior high and high school students. This is typically a non-musical production. Auditions and rehearsals are held after school.
Spring Musical
This is our biggest production of the year!! All junior high and high school students are welcome to come audition. Auditions and rehearsals are held after school.
Elementary Theater Club
Any 4-6th grader at Dekalb Eastern is welcome to join our elementary theater club. This is an after school program that takes place at Eastside High School. Students learn basic theater performance fundamentals such as audition, stage directions, projecting, memorizing lines, and stage presence while working on a musical production which they then get to perform in the Millie Hansen Auditorium.
Horizons Summer Academy
This is a three week enrichment summer school program that combines academics and the Fine Arts. 4-6th grade students are invited based on their academic performance during the school year. Each year we have an overall theme that ties into a musical production. During the program students are engaged in hands-on learning, work on collaborative projects, and make small props/set pieces. These are all displayed at our open house where the students perform their musical production in the Millie Hansen Auditorium and showcase their projects!
