Millie Hansen Auditorium

Millie Hansen AuditoriumThe auditorium is named for Millie Hansen because of her association with Eastside Junior/Senior High School. Although Millie Hansen began teaching in 1941, her teaching days at Eastside didn't begin until her retirement when she began a 19-year relationship with the school that included mentoring choir teachers, accompanying groups and soloists on the piano, and leading rehearsals.

The Millie Hansen Auditorium at Eastside Junior/Senior High School has become the unofficial capital of the DeKalb Eastern Community. This beautiful theatre is available for rent and can easily accommodate 500 people. The facility is equipped with state of the art equipment, including:

  • Audio visual system supporting CD, DVD, and VCR
  • Theatre lighting and sound system
  • Cameras to capture stage events and produce DVDs
  • Curtained stage
  • Backdrops and props
