The purpose of Student Council is to develop attitudes of, and practice in, good citizenship, promote harmonious relations throughout the school, improve school morale, advise in management of the school, provide a forum for student expression, provide orderly direction of school activities, promote the general welfare of the school and represent the student body in any and all matters concerning the student body at large.

Students wishing to become a member of student council will have to apply and submit recommendations from teachers. This usually occurs in April or May of each year for the new school year.
Eastside student council is responsible for the back-to-school picnic, homecoming week, the homecoming dance, Riley week, a winter dance and also volunteering activities.
